The Sun and The Moon
I am Moon which shines in the night and gives everyone light in the dark. But no one gave me light. I was very lonely in the darkness. The stars around me always treated me as a queen, not as a friend. The only thing I had was loneliness. And here my story began...It was a very quiet night. I was watching the stars singing when I heard a child’s prayer,”The Goddess of Moon, would you help me please? Please ask The Great Sun to shine tomorrow because I want to look for flowers in the forest for my mother. Amen.”
I always heard about The Great Sun from the birds, or the clouds, or the plants. The Sun was great and loved by everyone. So that night, I asked the birds to deliver the boy’s prayer to the Sun. Since that, I always chatted with the Sun trough the birds. It was the first time I didn’t feel lonely at all. It was like my sorrows and burdens were taken away from me.
Moon, I saw the flowers were very happy this morning. All people were in the pink, they laughed and smiled. I wish we can see this glory of morning together. -Sun-
Sun, the stars are so bright and really gorgeous tonight. They dance and sing beautifully. I wish you are with me now to see this beautiful scenery. -Moon-
And the time was going so fast. I fell in love with the Sun although I hadn’t seen him, I had never heard his voice, and it was impossible for us to be together.
“I love you, Moon...”
“I love you too, Sun...”
“I love you more...”
Then we took a decision. We tried to adhere to our love and promised that we would live together at all costs. I knew the stars were all in uproar and took sides for or against my decision. But I really wanted to spend my life with him. So the Sun came that night. He was so bright. It was the first time we met, but it was like that we had known each other for a long time. We went to another galaxy, opened our new life.
“O my God! Look at the sky! The Sun is not there.”
“Yesterday, I didn’t see the Moon in the sky.”
“What is going on?”
All people were talking about us. But I was very happy to live with the Sun so I didn’t realize what I had done. There was no sun in the morning. Flowers died, people cried, and the animals were sad. That night, I heard a child’s prayer again. “My plants died, so did the other’s. It’s been not rain for so long since there is no sun heat to help the evaporation. Also, I’ve never seen the beautiful Moon anymore. I wish they’ll back soon”
So I cried. I messed up everything. I was such a selfish moon.
“Moon, do you know that somehow, Prince Fire fell in love to Princess Water?”
“Yes, I do. But it was impossible for them to be together as lovers.”
“Do you think there was a small chance, even though only a very small chance, for them to be united?”
“I don’t know Sun. I don’t know. Sometimes there are things that can’t be changed even though we try to change them as hard as we can.”
“I wish I can alter this situation...”
“I wish I can turn back the time...”
“But we can’t...”
Then I decided to disappear from him. Until now, I still love him so much. Since that, I’ve never seen him or chatted with him. We just back to the faith we have, to the way we should be...
“Sun, why did you go away?”
“Moon, why did you disappear?”
“Because you went away...”
“Because you disappeared...”
The End
